René KASSIS

Business Development Partner, Aquila Capital

• René has been appointed as Business Development Partner by Aquila Capital to expand their activities on the French market, bringing 30 years of experience in infrastructure investment and development of real assets platforms, both in the asset management and the banking industries.

• He was previously the Head of Real & Private Assets at La Banque Postale Asset Management, where he set up and led the development of a platform that raised from institutional investors and directly invested over 10 years more than EUR 6 billion in infrastructure, real estate and corporate assets across Europe.

• Before joining LBP AM, René Led Dexia’s global infrastructure finance franchise, which culminated at the top 3 global infrastructure banks’ league tables. He started his career at Credit Lyonnais where he held various infrastructure project finance positions in Paris, Singapore and London.

• René has been an active player in the sustainable finance and infrastructure investment communities: he has been the chairman of the Infrastructure Committee of AFG (The French Asset Managers Association), a member of UN PRI Infrastructure Advisory Board, and an elected member of the Bureau of Finance for Tomorrow (now Institut de la Finance Durable, Paris Europlace’ green and sustainable finance hub).

• René speaks French, English, Japanese and Arabic, and has worked in Paris, Tokyo, Singapore and London.
