Public Sector Engagement Lead, MENAP and Francophone Africa, Standard Chartered Bank

Hind was recently appointed as the Public Sector Engagement Lead for MENAP and Francophone Africa, bringing over 25 years of experience in banking and financial markets. Previously, she served as Head of Financial Markets for Middle East North Africa and Pakistan and as ESG Lead for Global Credit Markets. In her previous capacity, she played a pivotal role in achieving record performance and identifying key sustainability growth sectors and geographies.


Her extensive career includes significant transactions in emerging markets with sovereigns, financial institutions, and corporate clients across all asset classes. Before joining the bank, Hind developed the MENAP franchise for ICBC Standard Bank, led Corporate sales for MENA at Barclays, and worked on the French interest rate derivatives desk at Deutsche Bank.


Hind was raised in Casablanca, and has also lived in Paris, London, and Dubai. She is passionate about the intersection of Emerging Markets, ESG dynamics and Sustainable Development. She actively participates in the local currency workstream of the United Nations Global Alliance for Sustainable Development, which addresses the shortage of local currency borrowing options that hinder capital flows into emerging markets. She also contributes in other similar workstreams on the topic.


She holds a diploma from University Paris Dauphine, a Post Graduate degree in Finance and Insurance from Nanterre University and a Master’s Degree in Finance from ESCP Paris.


Hind has also completed an executive program on Climate Change and Energy from the Harvard Kennedy School and an Impact Investing program from Said Business School at the University of Oxford.
