Thomas PICARD
Managing Director, Lazard
Thomas Picard joined Lazard in Paris in 1997 and worked in the New York office from 2001 to 2003 before returning to the Paris office. At Lazard, he is European co-Head of energy, power and utilities.
He has advised numerous power and utility companies in recent years including TotalEnergies, Engie, Veolia, Suez, GTT, and others.
Thomas notably advised in the following transactions :
• Belenergia in its capital raise with For Talents and Rgreen
• Waga Energy in its recent equity and debt raising transactions
• Boralex in the sale of a 30% stake in Boralex Europe to Energy Infrastructure Partners
• TotalEnergies in the sale of a stake in a power generation asset to Asterion Industrial Partners
• Engie in the acquisition of Eolia Renovables alongside Predica
• Paprec in its capital increase with Vauban and Crédit Agricole as new shareholders
• Veolia in the sale of its waste activities in Sweden to Remondis
• DIF in its acquisition of a stake in Trapil from TotalEnergies
• CDC and CNP in the acquisition of “New Suez” alongside GIP and Meridiam
• GTT in the partial exit of Engie
• Engie in the sale of its 30% stake in Suez to Veolia
Thomas has also advised various transactions in the energy transition sector, involving Valorem, Amarenco, CorsicaSole, TagEnergy, Boralex, Neoen, Akuo Energy, Voltalia, and others.
He has also advised a number of infrastructure investors in connection with investment in energy & utilities, including APG, Macquarie, Antin, EQT Infrastructure, KKR Infrastructure, Ardian, IFM and others.
Prior to joining Lazard, Thomas worked for BNP-Paribas in its Mergers and Acquisitions Group in London.
Thomas graduated from HEC Paris.
